Majorca Porto Colom – Frequently Asked Questions
The hotel is located just a short walk from Cala Marsal Beach (150 metres) in the Porto Colom area of Majorca. The centre of Porto Colom and its shops, bars and restaurants are just 100 metres away. Porto Colom has plenty of activities to keep you busy including windsurfing, scuba diving, fishing, waterskiing, golf, tennis and cycling. There is also a pretty fishing harbour, a traditional Sunday market and golf course less than three miles away.

1. What is the board basis?
This is on an all inclusive rate.
2. What is included in the holiday?
The holiday includes flights, transfer to and from the airport in Majorca and 7, 10 or 14 nights all inclusive at the hotel.
3. How big will the group be?
The group will be around 20 – 25 families on a combination of 7 or 10 night holidays.
4. Which airports fly out to this holiday?
The airport in Majorca is Palma and is served by the UK. The holiday price is based on flights from London. Please contact us for further information on costs for any of the regional airports. These include – Birmingham, Bristol, Cardiff. Liverpool and Manchester.
5. When will I receive my tickets?
You will receive your tickets and all other documents between 7 – 10 days before you depart. This will be sent out via email. There will also be an email with further information – who is on your holiday etc around the same time.
6. What is my baggage allowance?
The baggage allowance will be on your tickets. Each airline is different.
7. Does the coordinator meet us at the airport?
With people coming in at different times, the coordinator will meet you in resort.
8. Transfers – what happens when I get to the airport?
The shuttle transfers are available 24 hours a day regardless of flight arrival time. Where possible the holidaymakers on the group flights will be transferred together. Private transfers are available for this holiday at a supplement. All of the details on the transfer will be on your vouchers that are issued with your tickets via email 7 – 10 days before departure – this will also include instructions on how to find your transfer. The hotel from Palma airport is approximately 38 miles.
9. There is another persons name on my transfer voucher?
This means that that family are on the same transfer as you.
10 Can I add extras on to my flight?
Yes you can. Please contact us for prices. Please note that any requests for extras (in-flight meals, extra leg room etc) will need to be submitted BEFORE the final balance is paid (12 weeks before your holiday)
1.How big is the hotel?
The hotel consists of 240 rooms.
2. What types of rooms are there?
The room that we have are studio apartment rooms, or 1 bedroom apartments for families of 4.
3. What facilities do the room have?
All rooms have air conditioning (centrally controlled), kitchenette, satellite TV, Safe (small charge approx 13€ per week with a 12€ deposit), internet (6€ per 24 hours) and terrace or balcony. Please note – there are no hair dryers in the room!
4. What is included in the all inclusive rate?
Meals: all in buffet style featuring a selection of Spanish and international cuisine. Breakfast Buffet: 08:00 – 11:30. Lunch Buffet: 12:00 – 13:30. Dinner Buffet: 19:00 – 21:00 In the bar area cold snacks are served from 13.30 – 23.00 Drinks: Locally produced Alcohol, Soft drinks, Beer, Wine, Tea, Coffee served in the bar: 11:00 – 23:00.
5. What facilities are there at the hotel?
At the hotel there is a large freshwater outdoor swimming pool – which is quite deep in areas, so there is no ‘paddling’ level in this pool, a smaller paddling pool for babys, sun loungers by the pool, sun terrace with more sun loungers and parasols, hammocks. There is loads of sporty activities including a tennis court, squash court, snooker, table tennis, volleyball, water polo, five a side football, aerobics, aqua gym and sporting tournaments around the pool/gardens. Further sporting amenities/activities are available nearby for hire/rental including sailing, banana boats, para-sailing, canoeing, horse riding and golf. Other services that are at the hotel include – 24-hour reception, currency exchange, local information. Babysitting, Irons and laundry service are all available at an additional charge. There is an assorted daily sports and games programme that is on the board in reception. Every night in the pool bar is different entertainment. There is WiFi in the public areas and you can get it in your room for an additional charge – approximately 6€ for 24 hours, 12€ for 3 days or 24€ for a week – this is per device. There is also free WiFi at the beach side cafes.
6. What is there for the Kids?
Th main pool isn’t suitable for paddling tots, however there is a smaller paddling pool. There is a children’s animation club for 5 and 12 year olds. There is a varied events programme. There is also a children’s playground.
7. What is the beach like and is it near?
The hotel is 150 meters from the Cala Marsal beach. Which has lovely sands and great sea for snorkelling!
8. My flight isn’t till the evening, what are my options?
We can contact the hotel to get a price for a late check-out. This all differs on if the room is available for the next day. There is luggage holding facilities.
1. What excursions are there and how much will they cost?
More detailed information on this will be coming soon – this is so that we can give you a better idea of the costs. These could include a trip to the Caves of Drach, Feleantix Market, a trip on a glass bottom boat and Aqualand!!
2. What is the currency there?
Euro is the currency. Which is readily available! The currency rate is changes often – so you are best looking at this closer to the time. There are currency exchange facilities at the hotel, you will also find some exchange offices within close proximity to the hotel. There are also many ATMs that you can withdraw money from – however please do check with your bank what their charges are. Travellers cheques can be changed at the hotel. There is an ATM with in walking distance.
3. How much money should I take out with me?
All of your food and drink (as stated above in the all-inclusive rates) in the hotel complex is included – you will need money for any of the excursions that you would like to do and any gifts that you wish to buy.
4. What plug adaptor should I take out with me?
Majorca uses the 2 pin plug that you would find through out Europe.
5. What is the time difference?
The local time in Majorca is GMT + 1
6. What languages are spoken there?
The main language is Spanish however English and French are also spoken.
